I met Daniel at a dinner, we began to talk, and I was fascinated with him on the spot. He began to talk to me about ...... breathing. (I thought to myself, yes, I do that. I had no idea.) He invited me to do a breathing session with him the next day. Though fascinated and wide open to anything he wanted to show me, I didn't know what was about to happen to me, but after one session I signed on for two more. And after two more, another, and then another. Unfortunately (and I mean VERY unfortunately, for a lot of reasons), I had to leave town, or I'd still be doing sessions (though Daniel showed me how to take it on the road). In the first session, he talked to me like the wise musical shaman that he is, and once again, I was riveted, body and soul. Then ... the breathing began. He showed me—this first session and all the ones to come—all the varying speeds and rhythms and velocities (these are my clumsy ways of describing it, he's more eloquent and soulful) of breathing, and here's what happened: something like Big Old Pain started coming up out of me, up and up, choking me, I kept on breathing, Daniel right there, supporting me, breathing with me, as the choking turned to hard crying, tingling throughout my body, and finally ... wide open calm and peace. Joy. Bliss. Solid, reliable, mine, but connected to the room I was in, Scottsdale, Arizona, the world, even farther, then back to my body. This man—Daniel Hirtz, remember that name—showed me something very new; breathing to ACTIVELY, right NOW, bring up numbing pain, and all the wild but grounded energy underneath. And that was just the first session.read more

I have known Daniel for more than 10 years. He is one of the most authentic people I have ever met. Everything he does... comes from the heart and everything he teaches goes to the heart. If we were not 6000 miles apart I would hang out with him every day. He knows things that are hard to explain, he connects with people in ways you can't imagine. Daniel Hirtz knowing Daniel for close to thirty years now. I have experienced first hand his dedication, passion and... commitment to inspiring people with breath, community, drumming and celebrating being alive and one with fire and sound.
He's offered breathing circles in Europe as well as the US.

Participated over the years Daniel's holistic tuning in a weekly group, as well as weekend intensives. His ability to tune into people and facilitate a deeper inner awareness as well as open people to being and feeling more connected and one with each other.

Breathing — so simple, yet it makes all the difference. I am very grateful to Daniel for reminding me to breathe. I... turn on one of his short videos and there is my breath coach, that support and assistance just when I need it the most. Because it’s a funny thing: often when I most need a breathing break, is when I’m least capable of doing it myself. So it is extremely valuable to have Daniel guide me back in to what I need to do.
His face talking from my phone works better than you might expect because I know him, I trust him, I’ve been to his house for drumming lessons (which are also fantastic, by the way). Those times when my monkey mind wants to make up obstacles, I tell myself there’s no time or it’s too hard to drive to Scottsdale and attend a live class, but on the other hand some video on my phone is too disembodied; there’s always some resistance to do the simple practices that do the most good, that bring me back to myself. I am shocked sometimes with how my attention span is destroyed... well, Daniel can get through all that by making the videos extremely accessible, short and focused and real.

With Daniel’s assistance, I feel supported in my intention to constantly connect to life force through breath and rhythm in 2019.read more

Daniel,
I just wanted to thank you! Yesterday, I had to get an MRI on my knee and they had to do injections straight into my joint. I got myself all worked up and nervous, but then you popped into my mind. I used your breathing suggestion and it helped me get a hold my emotions. I am also certified in Reiki and seem to forget that I can reiki myself! So I breathed. Reiki-ed. And got through the very uncomfortable X-ray guided injections and then the MRI.
